Bio-logging and ecophysiology of marine predators

I actively promote bio-logging, which involves attaching data loggers to free-ranging species to monitor their biology and the physical parameters of their immediate environment. In an ecosystem approach, I use top predators as eco-indicators of their environment by building “living observatories”.

In parallel, I also determine the physiological characteristics of individuals that can help unravel the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that best explain foraging or reproductive performance.

I am also actively involved in the governing bodies of several international institutions: the bio-logging society, the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research, the Antarctic Treaty System
