Simon Denis

Head of logistics

What I like about my job is the diversity of the tasks I have to carry out: from maintenance to the design and construction of equipment for scientific programs in conjunction with researchers and students, one thing is certain: I don’t have time to get bored. I joined the Centre d’Etudes Biologiques de Chizé in 2008. I work in the logistics department which is made up of 3 agents with specific jobs (plumber-heating engineer, animal handler, carpenter). My role is to ensure the maintenance of the fleet of vehicles and electrical installations as well as to take charge of the common work of the research support logistics department (for example: construction of experimental reptile enclosures). As “Technical Building Correspondent”, I am responsible for the administrative and technical follow-up of the services provided by the companies on the site, on behalf of the delegation (for example, construction of 3 wood boiler rooms, water treatment plant, repair of the water network, etc.). I am also a prevention assistant, I set up fire safety systems and contribute to the improvement of workstations. I organise the CHS, first aid training and medical check-ups.
